Is my file uploaded to a server?

No. This page has no backend and makes no network requests with your data. Everything runs in your browser's memory.

What formats are supported?

SRT and VTT in, plus SRT / VTT / plain-text transcript out. Malformed files are parsed leniently — the tool recovers what it can.

My subtitles are out of sync with the video. Which shift do I use?

If the text shows up before people speak, shift later (+). If it lags behind, shift earlier (−). Typical fixes are 500–3000 ms.
